Some Tips For Those Who Never Want To Retire
Retiring is not something everyone looks forward to. Your reason might simply be that you do not have sufficient money to retire. You might be afraid of the boredom and isolation that retirement might bring. Your office buddies might visit a few times, but then suddenly the house will grow eerily quiet. When you wake up in the morning there will be nothing to look forward to.
Our modern era has brought with it something that can make a difference to both your financial situation during retirement, as well as your need to be recognized and have something worthwhile to do: blogging. The day that you retire you will have decades of experience behind you that is unique to you as a person. Think of it: nobody in the whole world has gone through exactly what you have. The different jobs you had, your marriage and other relationships, your travels. Many people would love to hear your views on all those things.
Certainly you can also make money blogging. How much would depend on how well you can write and how much time you have available to put into blogging. To monetize your blog, there are two main options: Display advertisements on the pages and get paid every time a visitor clicks on an ad, or display banner ads on the pages and get a commission every time someone buys a product or service from that company. A good example of the first one is Google Adsense and of the second Amazon.
You don’t have to do this full time. You can do it as often or as seldom as you want. The money from the ads and affiliate sales will supplement your retiring income.
To write a blog is more than just about the financial rewards though. It will suddenly give you a reason to get up in the morning – to see what comments people have made on yesterday’s blog that you wrote. Others will share their own experiences with you. You will make many new online friends. Friends who might be in a foreign country, but they share your outlook on life. Or they might be going through a similar experience as you, so they know what you are talking about. Some of them will become life-long friends.
Another positive aspect of blogging is that this is something that you can do until you are very old. It is in fact a great way of earning money and keeping yourself busy when you are old. There are many bloggers who are in their seventies and eighties. It’s a great way to make new friends and to stay in touch with old friends.
You also do not need to be in a great physical condition to do this. Being in a wheelchair should not prevent you from becoming a blogger. Neither should rheumatism or arthritis. With the latest technological advances you can now dictate a blog through your voice recognition software and the computer will type the blog as you speak. This way your voice can be heard long after your hands have become gnarled and knotted and no longer fit for typing.
