5 leading ways you can get your blog noticed with no budget
Blogging is the new form of communication. They are the best way to communicate a message and to make everyone aware of your important ideas.
With so many blogs out there, you’re probably telling yourself, “what will it take to get my blog the exposure it deserves?” or “is it worth written about my subject when there are so many others doing it?”. It sucks to feel like there is no way out, I know, I’ve been there. As a knowledgeable expert and owning a Burlington SEO services company, here are some of the ways I have been able to overtake the competition.
These are the 5 methods that you should do when writing a new entry in your blog. These 5 strategies will boost the amount of people that visit your blog. Today, I still put these steps into practice every time I write a blog post, just remember to do this for each blog post entry.
- Bookmarking – Anytime you write something, socially bookmark it. Here’s a list of great bookmarking sites: Digg, Del.icio.us, Reddit, Propeller, StumbleUpon, Mixx and JumpTags.
- Pinging – Pinging is the process of sending out your RSS feeds to a huge network of search engines letting them know that you just updated your website and made a new post. This might already be done for you depending on the blog platform you use, I’ll typically do it manually as well to make sure. Two automatic ways to do this are, Pinggoat and Iping. ***Caution: Don’t do this more that once per blog entry.
- Forums – A great place to discuss your topic and you might know a thing or two about it since your writing about it, participate in forums. Forums are a great way to get involved in a community that has similar interests as you do. This group is your bread and butter. When you create your account, create a signature that has a link to your blog. By answering or asking questions, your signature will appear with your URL. When answering questions, make sure you have something of value to give.
- Yahoo Answers – Likewise to the above, this method is closely related. Again, make a signature and add value to your answers. I tend to get most of my traffic from this strategy.
- Lend your competitors a hand – WHAT??? Are you serious… Yes I am. This tactic almost always works. Do a search for blogs from your competitors, read and comment on their blogs. Seeing that you know what you are talking about, write a comment or answer on their blog. When you write your answer in their comments field, make sure to reference your website where they can get more information about your niche. This is a great way to “steal” traffic.
If your worried that the last tactic might come back to bite you as your competitors can do the same to you, my response is “so”.If you blog has quality and value over your competition, the people that you bring over won’t think twice about going back.
